Run a Discord Tournament with BattleBot

BattleBot is the free Discord tournament bot from the BattleTabs team — it builds the bracket, handles sign-ups, and tracks results live, for BattleTabs or any other game. Here's the short version of getting from an empty channel to a finished bracket.

1. Add BattleBot to your server

Install BattleBot free from battlebot.battletabs.io — click Add to Discord and approve the permissions (you need admin access on the server). The commands appear immediately; there is nothing to configure.

2. Create the tournament

In the channel where you want the tournament, run /tournaments_create. An interactive wizard asks for a tournament name, the player count (4, 8, 16, or 32), and which game you're playing.

3. Pick a format

Choose single elimination for a shorter event or a first-to-X series for longer head-to-heads. BattleTabs tournaments track results automatically; any other game works with one-tap manual reporting.

4. Open sign-ups

BattleBot posts a message with a Sign Up button in the channel. The bracket can start automatically when it fills, or you can start it yourself with /tournaments_admin.

5. Play the bracket

Each pairing gets its own private match thread where players report the winner with one tap, and the live bracket updates after every result. For standings or anything else mid-event, /ask answers in plain English.
