Ahoy, Captains! Factions starts on the 29th — three sides, two weeks, and every fleet you already own belongs to one of them.
⚔️ Sail, Steel or Deep
Sail is the wooden stuff: Sailboat, Longboat, Catamaran, Kayak, Raft, Coracle. Steel is anything built and bolted — the subs, Conniving Cannoneer, Blunderbuster. Deep is what was out there before any of us turned up: Sea Monster, Killer Squid, Octopus, Whale. Your side is your colours, not a rule about your fleet: bring whatever ships you like and every battle still counts. Sailing in character is encouraged, not required — and each weekly chapter will name the ships each side actually sailed: most-fielded, biggest climber, and which crew turned up.
You choose one side and you're stuck with it for the fortnight. Every battle you play scores for your side, not every battle you win — as long as it's against someone from a different side and runs 10 turns or more. Battling the same person over and over counts for less each time, then stops counting (sorry — farm-proofing). Scoreboard on the home screen, a new chapter here each week, cosmetics for all three sides at the end. Tue 29 Sep → Tue 13 Oct.
🗣️ Pick a side
The game asks you when the event opens on the 29th — one tap on the home screen, and it tells you which crew is smallest before you commit. Not ready? Decide later and it will ask again.
Want to call it early? One word in #⛵⎜battletabs — Sail, Steel or Deep — and a line on why. The sharpest line from each side goes into chapter 1 with your name on it. Steel is the least-fielded of the three, if you like an underdog.
