🤝 Friend Codes — add friends anywhere
Hey Captains — adding friends just got a whole lot easier. Every account now has its own Friend Code, and you can add anyone with it, no matter where they play.
(don't forget to add BattleTabs to your Steam wishlist — the Steam launch lands 11 August, with new ships to claim on Steam! 🚢)
🤝 Your Friend Code
Every account now has an 8-character code (it looks like ABCD-2468). Find it under Add Friends and hit Copy or Share to send it to a mate. It's cross-platform — mobile, web, Steam, Discord — so it doesn't matter where your friend is playing.
➕ Adding a friend by code
Got someone's code? Open Add Friends, drop it into "Add a friend by code," and it'll send them a friend request. (Don't fuss over the dashes or caps — I strip those out for you.)
🎁 20 gems for you and a new friend
Bringing someone brand new to BattleTabs? When they enter your code as a new player, you both pick up 20 gems — theirs lands right away, and yours shows up as a reward to claim on your Bounty Board. That's good for up to 5 new friends, so 100 gems if you rally the crew. (New players also get a spot to punch in a code the moment they sign up.)
🔒 Prefer to keep it private?
You can switch your code off anytime in Settings → Privacy ("Allow friend requests by code"). Flip it off and nobody can add you by code — your existing friends aren't affected either way.
