Ahoy, Captains! On Monday 19 October at 00:00 UTC the research tree becomes a Season Pass. (That's 01:00 in London, 20:00 Sunday in New York and 08:00 in Taipei.) There's nothing to do beforehand.
✨ What's new for you
- 12 more rewards on the pass: 3 new ship skins (the Ghost Galleon, Gilded Catamaran and Frostbite Raiders), plus 6 avatar parts and 3 emotes that now come only from the pass.
- More gold on the free tiers. The tiers that used to unlock slots now pay gold, since slots are free for everyone.
- Rewards arrive on their own. No more spending points. Reach a tier and it's yours.
- Bonus chests past tier 120: one every 1,000 XP, up to 20.
- Chests with no timers. They wait in a new Chests inventory until you open them.
🪜 How it works
- One ladder of 120 tiers, one reward each. 59 are free and 61 are premium.
- The RP you earn in battle now counts as XP, and your tier only ever goes up.
- The pass is still 145 gems. Buy it any time and you get every premium reward on the tiers you've already reached.
🔁 Your progress carries over
- You start on the tier your research RP adds up to, spent and unspent. Nobody goes backwards.
- Rewards on the tiers you've passed are added. Items you already own, and gold, gems and chests you already collected from the tree, aren't given twice. A pop-up shows what you got.
