As some of you might have noticed, BattleTabs has a shiny brand new look! 😎 We’ve made the interface more stylised and re-arranged the screens - continuing to polish up the look and feel for the game you know and love :)

A new unit will be added to the game in v18, the Slug Squad! This is a 1x3 unit that has the ability to reveal two tiles...

There is a new set of Emotes for you to use - BattleTabs Emotes! This is our very first set of custom emotes. You can find them in the same emote wheel where current emotes are located. Love to know what you all think! 😀

You might have noticed a new look to player avatars! Now you can customise your look on BattleTabs. Click on the avatar picture on your profile page to get started.

We are continuously reviewing ship abilities and observing the meta. Some changes to ships this week:

A new unit has been released to 🛡 Battle Club! Magic Mirror is our first Building unit, and it’s got a sneaky ability. Use the Magic Mirror to copy the ability your opponent has last used! It’s the counter of all counters. You can even mirror a mirror attack (back to back to back Catamaran shots is super fun 😉 )

A new unit is coming to Battle Club! We have our very first unity with a passive ability. Crafty Crab’s ability is automatic — when it is alive, every normal attack will generate an additional random reveal attack. It also has the shape of your favourite Tetris piece. We can’t wait to see what new fleets you’d combo this mischievous unit with! 😀

We have added new functions to our Discord bot. Now you can directly invite another player to battle on Discord, and check out stats and match histories. Give it a try on our Discord server!

After a month of intense battles with 70 players, four top players remain in our 2nd tournament! Congratulations to WillTheSeasoned, AnikaitGupta, HuddyBuddy, and Kraz!

The most frequently requested feature is here! You can now design your own fleet. Want a fleet with only monsters? You can do that! Want a fleet with all the sonar units? You can do that too! The sky (the sea?) is the limit.

Our 2nd tournament is underway!

The long-awaited Battle Club is here! Battle Club gives you new ways to play BattleTabs — new ships and fleets to hone your BattleTabs strategies, animated avatars to show off your club membership, additional stats, more customisation options, and exclusive access to private Discord channels and events!

Introducing Naval Intelligence - a fleet that’s ALL about building up a good idea of where your opponent is and ruining them with one massive combo attack! 😉

Now there’s a new way to play BattleTabs with your friends, even if they don’t have the browser extension! Select Invite Anyone with Link after you click on New Battle and share your battle link with your friend. All they need to do is to click on that link to join your battle on battletabs.io - no install or signup required (and it works on mobile too)!

We have a new fleet + a new ship! The Vikings! fleet is all about the attacks. With the Catamaran giving you a powerful 1x7 attack, Sailboat and Kayak giving you 1x3 and 1x2 attacks, and the brand new Raft giving you a 2x2 attack, the Vikings! is full of raw power!

You might have seen some snow on the open sea in BattleTabs! We want to wish everyone a happy holidays. It’s been quite a year, and we really appreciate you spending time with BattleTabs this year. We love seeing the community grow - it gives us energy to keep developing and iterating on the game. Thank you again for playing!

We’ve completely updated our login system so you can now login with your Google or Discord account. This also means you can now log in from other browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Opera, or Coc Coc! This opens up a lot of cool integrations we want to do in the future. I am particularly excited about more integrations with BattleTabs Discord server!

Many of you told us you want to change your avatar and your name in the game. So we added a new Profile View! You can open it by clicking on your profile button, and avatars in the battle view. You can add people as friend directly on their profile view.

BattleTabs V2 is almost here! Because this is such a BIG update, BattleTabs server will be offline for a few hours when the update is approved by Google ...
