The BattleTabs Arcade is a place in the game for mini-games and ship mods made by players. Anyone with a BattleTabs account can make one. You describe your idea to your own AI agent, it builds the game, and you publish it and play it with friends by invite link. When it's ready, you submit it, and once we approve it, it shows in the Arcade tab for everyone.
The Arcade is in beta. Expect rough edges, and tell us about them in the Discord. That's the most useful thing you can do.
Free from nodejs.org (pick the LTS version). To check, open a terminal and type node --version. It should say v20 or higher. On Windows the terminal is PowerShell; on a Mac it's the Terminal app.
For example Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or VS Code. MCP is how your agent gets the BattleTabs tools. You bring your own agent, and any cost for it is between you and its provider.
The one you play with, signed in, and at least 7 days old. A guest account can't publish. Your games are published under your account.
Run this one command in a terminal. It's the same on Mac, Windows and Linux. It takes about a minute and you need to be online.
npx -y https://battletabs.com/mod-alpha/battletabs-mod-alpha-0.1.3.tgzIt copies the tools to a .battletabs-mod folder in your home folder, makes a battletabs-mods folder for your work, and connects Claude Code if you have it. If you use another agent, it prints the settings to paste into it, and saves them as mcp-settings.json in your battletabs-mods folder. Restart your agent afterwards.
Tell your agent your idea in plain words, like "make a ship mod where the Dolphin sonars twice as often" or "make a small three-in-a-row game". It writes the game file for you.
Your agent checks the file, runs bot games to see if it's fair, and opens a page where you play it against a bot. Play it yourself. Ask your agent to change anything that feels off.
Ask your agent to publish a draft. The first time, it gives you a link to sign in and approve it, and you accept the creator terms (see below). BattleTabs then plays your game with bots on our servers to make sure it works. This takes a minute or so.
Your agent gives you a link. Open it, check the name and rules card, and tap Confirm. Nothing goes live until you do.
Your game now has its own invite link. Send it to friends and play a few matches together. Until it's reviewed, it carries an Unreviewed label, and only people with your links can reach it.
When you're happy, open your game's page in BattleTabs and tap Submit to the Arcade.
A person on the BattleTabs team looks at your game: the rules, what it changes, the bot test results and the code. If it's approved, it shows in the Arcade tab for everyone. If it isn't, change it, publish a new version and submit that one.
To update a listed game, publish and confirm a new version, then submit it. Players keep getting the version that's listed now until the new one is approved.
The first time you publish, the game asks you to accept the creator terms. In short:
This is a summary. The terms shown in the game when you publish are the ones you agree to.
A match can be played to the end, and the rules card says what actually happens.
We read the bot test results. A game where one side almost always wins, or where nothing changes, won't be listed.
Nothing hateful, sexual, violent in a real-world way, or aimed at a person or group. This covers the name, the rules card, the ship names and any text in the game.
Your own idea and words. Don't copy another player's game, or another company's game, characters or name.
No web addresses, ads, social handles or contact details anywhere in the game. Publishing already refuses links.
No tricks to get around the limits, and nothing pretending to be a BattleTabs feature, reward or message.
We may remove a listed game later if players report a problem, or if it stops meeting these rules.
No. Your agent writes the code. You need to be happy giving it instructions, testing the result, and saying what to change.
Games run in a locked-down sandbox with limits on memory and time. They can't reach the internet or your files. If a game breaks a limit, the match is stopped rather than scored.
Before approval, anyone you send your invite link to. After approval, anyone who opens the Arcade tab in BattleTabs.
No. Any signed-in BattleTabs account can build, publish and play with friends. Review only decides whether a game is listed in the Arcade tab.
In the BattleTabs Discord. Post what you tried and any error your agent shows.
