Tips and tricks

BATTLE TIPS

1. When making fleets, make sure to include at least 2 attackers (ships that attack multiple tiles with their ability) and at least 1 scouter (sonars, revealers).

2. Avoid using RNG ships, unless they fit your fleet extremely well.

3. Random placement is often the best placement, seeing as your opponents are likely used to scouting manual placement.

4. Avoid placing ships in corners, as most people may hit your ship by accidentally using sonar there.

5. When using sonar, sonar in the corners, eliminates a lot of guessing compared to if you placed the sonar in the middle.

6. Make sure to think about your move - a lot can be deduced about placement if you pay attention to missed tiles.

7. Put some synergies in your fleet, like Longsub and Valkyrie. They will help your fleet.

8. ALWAYS be prepared for what may happen each turn, such as a ship with a ready ability getting sunk.

9. Try not aviod using multiple ships that have the same cooldown, as this effectively increases the cooldown of one of them by 1 (however this can be taken advatnage of to create a strong cycle).

10. avoid using too many ships of the same shape, as this makes it easier for your opponent to deduce the positions of them.

11. Experiment with different types of fleets!

TIPS INVOLVING SHIPS

1. Never use Coracle without a revealer (it can't attack)

2. When using the coracle, try to place it in places which are less likely to be found by your opponent (corners, near other ships).

3. don't use coracle as the only attacker in a fleet.

4. When using Longboat, try to hit more than one ship with its ability.

5. With longboat, try to take out the most important ship or one that has a weird shape first, such as catamaran.

6. After you sonar, aim your next shot in a place where it can eliminate the most possible choices possible. Conniving cannoneer works well for this.

7. Crustacean works better as a scouter than an attacker, but always be aware of situations where you can take advantage of crustaceans attacking potential.

8. If you are using a raft, get the most out of its usage, as it probably will only be used once.

9. With revealers, especially see slug, spread out the tiles you target, instead of revealing just a small corner.

10. Nessie is stronger earlier in battles as a scouter than in late game where it is more likely to repeat attacked tiles.

11. Taking out more deadly ships such as valkyrie and catamaran is best done as soon as possible.

12. Leave skull cove to the end of a battle, as its ability is disabled then.

13. If your opponent is using dolphin take advantage of its sonar count to deduce where all of your opponents ships are.

13. Crafty crab is better used with ships that dont constantly have ready abilities, as its passive only works when simply firing with the cannon.
